I love pinterest.

That statement isn’t exactly what this post is about, but you’ll need to remember it for later. Because I found this one thing on a magical trip into the land of pinterest and I’m using it now to better serve and love my husband as a godly wife. It says in Proverbs:

Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life. Proverbs 31:10-12

If I die before John I want him to stand up at my funeral and say “I have found a virtuous wife, my heart safely trusts her, she did me good and not evil all the days of her life.”

I also want him to play Aerosmith’s Dream On but that’s a totally different story.

One of the biggest roles in my life that I pour so much effort and devotion into is my role as a wife. I believe God designed women specifically to be with man, to be a helpmate and companion to him. God hand-picked my lover (aka my husband) for me before I even knew who he was. We are walking through this great adventure through life together, and I want to be the best companion he could ever ask for.

Which brings me to pinterest.

I found this blog via pinterest several months back. It’s called Raising Godly Children and the article that originally caught my attention is entitled 31 Days of Praying for Your Husband. I’ve been praying for my husband for years. Since even before I knew him my parents taught me to pray for my future spouse. But what I loved about this article was the very specific list of ways to pray for your husband and Scriptures to match!

I started the same day that school started for John. It will be an intense semester for him, taking a lot of hours, working enough for us to stay afloat, AND spending time on high-maintenance me. Now would be a great time to start covering him in prayer.

So my challenge to the wives out there is to join me in 31 days of praying for our husbands. To protect them from the attacks satan aims their way. To strive to be the wife a man’s heart can safely trust.

Gentlemen, are you ready to take the challenge too? To specifically pray for your wife, to life her up before the Lord. You chose her, to love, cherish, and honor. Now is the perfect time to start. I googled around and found this link for 31 days of praying for your wife.

Let’s get started!
