A few days ago I saw a poster that said, “No matter who is president, Jesus is King.” Can I get an amen up in here?

Despite all the hardships sometimes it’s super great to be married to a seminary student. Especially the kind of seminary student who is taking a class on Revelation. Because when it seems like the world might spin out of control, he reads you verses like this,

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:

“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,              Be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Revelation 7:9-12

We can read the end of The Book and we can know that in the end our God wins. Not wins like everybody gets a trophy for participation. Not wins like now we’re going to Disneyland. Wins like every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He will return in triumph. He will return in glory.

Jesus promises,

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:3-6

Jesus is coming back for His own. When He wins, we win. And when we win, we get to spend eternity with Him worshiping before the throne of the Most High. Hallelujah.

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:20
